Who we are

This Cookie Policy concerns LIONOAK, available at https://www.lionoak.xyz.
The data controller is Marco Dal Mas.
For enquiries about cookies and personal data, contact postmaster@lionoak.xyz.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They can support authentication, remember information you choose to save and enable particular website functions.

Session cookies normally expire when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain until their expiry date or until you delete them. Similar rules can apply to other technologies that store or access information on your device.

WordPress cookies

The following cookies relate to specific WordPress functions. Their use depends on whether you leave a comment, visit the login page or access an authorised account. They are first-party cookies associated with this website.

Parts of cookie names shown in square brackets vary according to the website or user. Login, administration and editing cookies concern authorised account holders. They are not required simply to read articles. Logging out removes the login cookies. These are standard WordPress lifetimes; site configuration and browser settings can affect their operation.

Remembering comment details

When submitting a comment, you can choose whether to save your name, email address and optional website address in your browser. Selecting the corresponding checkbox enables the comment cookies described above, so you do not have to enter those details again for a later comment.

You can leave this option unselected. Cookies already saved can be removed through your browser settings. Selecting this option does not subscribe you to editorial updates or marketing communications.

Gravatar and external resources

The website uses Gravatar, operated by Automattic, to display avatar images. Viewing a page containing these images connects your browser to Gravatar’s servers. The provider may receive technical information, including your IP address and browser information, even if you do not submit a comment.

Loading an external image involves a connection to the provider; it does not, by itself, establish that a tracking cookie has been placed on your device. Information about Automattic’s processing activities and cookie practices is available in its Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

Links to external websites, including LinkedIn, take you to services governed by their own privacy and cookie policies.

Cookies and consent

Cookies strictly necessary to transmit communications or provide a service you expressly request do not require prior consent under applicable cookie rules.

Cookies and similar technologies used for purposes that require consent must remain inactive until valid consent has been obtained. Simply visiting the website, scrolling a page or continuing to browse does not constitute consent to optional tracking technologies.

Managing cookies

You can inspect, delete or block cookies through your browser’s privacy settings. You can also restrict third-party cookies. Instructions are available from the main browser providers:

Blocking authentication cookies can prevent access to authorised WordPress accounts. Deleting preference cookies removes the information they remember. Browser controls are additional tools and do not replace any consent mechanism required for optional tracking technologies.

Personal data and your rights

For information about personal data processing, recipients, international transfers and your rights, please read our Privacy Policy. You can send privacy-related requests to postmaster@lionoak.xyz.

Policy updates

This policy will be updated when the website’s cookie practices or applicable requirements change. The latest revision date appears at the beginning of this document.
